What systemdoes the NH90 FCS incorporate?

Fly by wire

6 advantages for fly by wire?

-less mechanical complexity

-limited requirements for rigging

-safer (multi wire routings and redundancies

-space saving

-improved testability and maintainability

-improved handling qualities

3 components that make up the FCS?

-Pilot interface: cyclic, collective, pedals and transducer

-FCP: processes the control commands for the helicopter

-Servo actuation: executes commands from FCP block to make actuators move

what is the relationship between Pilot controls (inceptors) and the ITU?

Pilot inputs mechanical movements to the inceptors and the ITU measure these movements and translates them into electrical signals to be sent to the FCCs.

What do the FCCs do?

conduct flight control processing. receives data from the ITUs, control panels and sensors and sends instructions to the servo actuation block in order to control actuation position

What does the ACC do?

drives the MR and TR servo actuators using orders coming from the FCC

What does the Dynamic Sensor unit do?

provides dynamic data and air data parameters for the FCC
