An awareness of unavoidable demographics is creating urgency for businesses to focus more attention and energy on keeping hold of talented employees and keeping them actively engaged in their work. For successful advance, sustainability and profitability, companies have to focus on practices that will universally motivate their workers. People act to maximize expected satisfaction with outcomes. Two main things individuals are motivated by are what they think the payoff is for their behavior (in this case, money) and how much they value that payoff. The combination of the two is what motivates people. In different terms, individuals often make more effort when performance based incentives are used because they believe they will get money when they perform as expected and they really like money. People usually will make choices based on the choice’s ability to increase their wealth and not so much, whether it contributes to the company’s benefit. If a task does not add to their economic well-being, they will shirk the task. However, companies are finding it hard every to keeping hold of talented employees. In the current economy, this is hard to find as companies are announcing layoffs and the employees are leaving to find better work. Because, of the growth of the businesses industries in the 21st century booming. Many companies are offering to pay for higher education because with the changing environment firms are recognizing workers need a wide variety of skills to adapt in business globe and eventually opportunity for advancement or increase in pay.
