My mother signed me up for school by accident as she was enrolling my sibling. You see I was too young, only three years old. She was so busy signing papers she just added my name to the list. I never made it to the official “first” day of class. My mother, having no intention to send me to school did not send me or take me. You see it wasn’t until a truancy officer showed up at our house is when she realized what she had done. They didn’t care about my age at that time. The only concern was to get me to class. Because of my being too young for the grade I was in my mother said no, even though the school suggested it when I was in the sixth grade. Not only did I graduate at an early age, I graduated a year early. I had no senior year.
I grew up in a very religious home. My mother was a Jehovah’s Witness. We were not allowed to participate in any of the afterschool programs or proms and things social. I was taught to read using the bible. We spent much of our non-school hours studying one of their books about the bible or the bible itself. My mother would make me read out loud until I learned to read fluently and fast enough to present a speech at our congregation during bible study. I learned to read well and developed the ability to comprehend the depths of writings.
Upon graduation I found out I would not be allowed to attend college due to the religious conflict. I was taught the only service I should strive for
