When a private laboratory supported by the government finds the cure for the mutants by using the DNA of a powerful boy. The mutants now have the option of giving up their powers and become fully human,or retain their uniqueness and remain isolated, but their society split. Magneto opposes and decides to join a force to fight against the government and kill the mutant boy. Meanwhile Jean Grey with being powerful and uncontrollable, She destroys Cyclops and Professor Charles Xavier leaving the allies to the evil forces of Magneto, making them almost invincible.
A disease would be considered a physical or mental issue that causes harm to themselves. In the X-Men: Last Stand, in their case, the mutants have accepted their gift and are willing to teach other mutants in need of guidance and control.
