There are two people that put their opinion of the age change to 18. The age limit is ok the way it is. I agree the person that says no. if you change the age it isn’t making a difference. There still would be car wrecks and accident.

Although most people would disagree, I think that the driving age should not be risen for two reasons. One reason I feel this way is because after so many years of having the driving age the way it is, there is no valid reason to change it now. The driving age was changed to 16 so that the blood alcohol limit for under-20s would be decreased to 0. Parliament also felt that it would strengthen the restricted license test. Another reason I disagree with the age change is that I do not want to have to wait any longer.…

In recent years Illinois has enacted teen driving reforms, many of them after the Tribune's "Teens at the Wheel" series in 2006 examined ways that fatalities might be reduced. Some credit those changes for significant declines in teen driving deaths in the first seven months of this year. But "we're still losing a lot of teens on the road each year," Lund said.…

I think people should be able to drive at whatever age they feel like they can safely drive. I think the minimum age should be thirteen, and as long as you’re a teenager, driving tests should be harder. Also, instead of just passing, everyone has to get 100%. As long as we know that teens will be safe, they can drive. If they won’t be safe and won’t drive carefully and responsibly, then they shouldn’t be able to drive.…

Teens must know how to be responsible and “self-regulate” on their own. Teens need experience in order to learn, and raising the minimum driving age prevents teens from getting much needed experience at a younger age. Those who support raising the minimum driving age may argue that teens are reckless and irresponsible. However, teens only account for about 12 percent.…

Teens basically make their own decisions and have to be responsible. When people turn eighteen years old, they’re allowed to buy cigarettes, get married, join the military, serve on juries, and sign your own contracts. In the article, “The University Star”, they had said that people eighteen years and older are considered adults and should be treated as such by being allowed to legally purchase and consume alcohol. If teens are able to do all of these, they should be able to drink alcohol at this age. Allowing 18 year olds to consume alcohol would decrease unsafe drinking…

Although many people believe that a person should have their high school diploma before he or she gets their driver's license, but I disagree because you can be sixteen to get your driver’s license and some people are eighteen before they get there high school diploma. I don’t think that you should have a high school diploma before you get your driver’s because when kids turn sixteen they want to start doing things for themselves, and they don’t want their parents driving them around when the 20 because they didn’t get their high school diploma. When you turn sixteen you want to go to your friends parties, and it would be embarrassing if you show up with your parents coming to drop you off and leaving, then when the party was over it might be one in the morning on a Sunday morning then you would have to wait for your parents to show and drive you back home.…
