When is it alright to smoke recreational marijuana? People all around the world disagree and agree with legalization of marijuana. There are many states in the United States where marijuana is legal and the others, well they are still voting their way to make marijuana legal. Everywhere in North America a variety of the states have already legalized marijuana but for example, California is a state where Californians are voting on whether or not to legalize marijuana. The problem with that is it might be more easily accessible for underage children, and there would be parents of children that would most likely to leave the marijuana out, then it would be easily available to steel. If recreational marijuana becomes legal, the citizens of California need to follow all of the procedures and rules while uses it. “Californians are set to decide whether to make recreational marijuana use legal, as other Western states have done, after the California Secretary of State's office said on Tuesday the issue could be put to voters in the November ballot” (O’Brien). Californians are trying to legalize marijuana but they have to go through Congress and the government. It is also hard for them to decide because of the other people to worry about, like underage children and the people who do not want it legalized. The other half of the people most likely do not want recreational marijuana to become legal because either they have children and do not want them around the marijuana, or they just do not like what it does to people. “Kids are going to be bombarded with this – they’re already getting the message that it’s acceptable” (Hotakainen). Their guardians are obviously allowing their children to get access to marijuana, so why should California really get the legal access to …show more content…
Many things could happen while being involved with marijuana, such as underage children getting high, and then after effect of what could happen after they get high. Anyone who gets high with marijuana is putting their life at their own risks, because of the worst possibilities that could happen to them. For them though, they had a vote for people who agree and for people who oppose. “A new survey finds that 53% favor the legal use of marijuana, while 44% are opposed. As recently as 2006, just 32% supported marijuana legalization, while nearly twice as many (60%) were opposed” (“In Debate over Legalizing Marijuana, Disagreement over Drug’s Dangers”). Obviously Californians can not make up their mind because the votes of marijuana go up and down each year. If they really want to make marijuana legal then stick to one decision on whether or not to make it legal. Besides the percent who oppose, California still has a chance at making marijuana legal, if they stick to one decision. While half of Californians know about what is going on and how all of these things are happening, there is still always going to be those people who either do not like the idea or just do not agree with it. If in California majority wins then California has a good shot at winning for recreational marijuana to be legalized.
