Marijuana has become a dilemma ever since people began seeing the effects that it has on the human body. After decades, marijuana has turned into a controversial topic to be spoken of in politics throughout the elections. Many states throughout the country have already begun to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. The time has come to say yes on Proposition 64 and legalize the recreational use of marijuana. Marijuana has more use than just those in the medical field and it is important to legalize proposition 64 because there would be less people in prison for possession of marijuana that are using the government's resources, the state government would benefit economically, and marijuana would have restrictions just like those on alcohol.

Ballotpedia states,”Proposition 64 would legalize the recreational use of marijuana for adults aged 21 years or older. Smoking would be permitted in a private home or at a business licensed for on-site marijuana consumption” (Ballotpedia,2016). Restrictions are needed to keep the environment safe from the dangerous effects that people might have. The location and age are very crucial to cut down the amount of people can use marijuana in certain locations. Citizens that attempt to obtain marijuana will have to visit a licensed business and have a limit to posses 28.5 grams of marijuana and 8 grams of concentrated marijuana.
