I have always been the child who asked too many questions and wanted all the answers. I questioned the purpose of life, the marvelous universe, and what we as humans evolved for. My curiosity made me an outcast among my peers, but in turn it made me see the world in a different light. The ability to question everything has made me an open minded individual in a town where closed minds thrive. I have always been obsessed with the notion that every question has an answer, whether it be unknown or hidden in plain sight. I’ve always question the mysteries of the unknown and for the most part I don't come up with an answer, but that's the part that I am fond of. The mystery that no one can solve, science. Science is a constantly evolving subject that nurtures an infinite amount of questions. This is why I chose a degree in biomedical engineering. It expanded my knowledge of the world and universe; it is what paved the way to my future endeavors. Everyone in my elementary class knew me as the person who questioned every instruction, assignment, and comment. I have always been skeptical about everything, and science has been the only cure to my disease. I began to take comfort in science, knowing that it was rarely wrong. I satiate my desires with science, but inevitably I became obsessed with it. Science was a black hole that pulled me in. Curiosity may have made me an outcast, but six years later I am glad that it did.
