If Optimism Were a Person She 'd Have Green Eyes

If optimism were a person she 'd have piercing green eyes, green like the buds that bring the hope of a beautiful spring after a cold, cold winter. She would stand the perfect height and her dark brown hair would flow just past her shoulders. She 'd have a slight obsession with cats and her name would be Kristina. I would be fortunate enough to call her my friend. Luckily this person does exist, she may not be optimism but being optimistic is one of her greatest qualities. Kristina is constantly looking and finding the good in everyone. She is the voice of reason that I know I can trust and she gives the greatest advice when I am having doubts or am having trouble making my own decisions. With her constant inspiration, I aspire to be a better person because of her. Kristina changed my life. I was at a low point; ready to throw away everything I had been working toward, thinking I had nothing to look forward to. I was a community college dropout working as a part-time waitress with a clouded idea of a future. But, that didn 't stop me from believing that I could go back to school. It turns out, the most important part of achieving my goals was believing in myself. After a few semesters at St. Petersburg College and trying hard to prove that I was worthy of a college degree, I found out that I had received a D on one of my first few tests in my Ethics class.
