Why History Matters History Matters is in important topic to think about because not many people are interested in history. Before taking this class I thought history was a boring subject that I would not need later in life. Through this class I have learned that it is important to know what you are talking about, to look at sources carefully, and that history can be important to me in my future career. Through this class I have learned that it is important to gain as much information as possible to a subject that you are arguing about. This was an important lesson to learn quickly because during the arguments it felt as if no one was sure of what they were arguing about. When the two sides did not know what they were talking about the arguments felt as if we were all yelling nothing at each other. All of the yelling with no factual backup was not productive and did not get any points across. I learned very quickly in the first game that having knowledge about the subject at hand was important to base your arguments on. I also learned, in the third game, that it is important to read all materials, not just the material that you use as sources. This was an important lesson to learn because many of us did not read the newspaper article that came out in the game. Since we did not read this we missed vital information that could have helped our arguments. Another thing I leaned in the games is that it is important to have allies.
