Why Did Kewuna Succeed In High School

Kewuana Success Kewauna used grit to succeed in school. Firstly, Kewauna used perseverance by sitting in the front instead of the back of the class. For example, author Paul Tough states she sat in the front with the white girls to better succeed (Tough). Thus, by not segregating herself to the back of the class she was serious about succeeding. Secondly, Kewauna was passionate about her studies. For instance, Tough states she stayed after school to talk to the professor about words she did not understand. Therefore, by staying after school she was more successful in her class. Thirdly, Kewauna used effort to pass her finals.
