"Freedom Writers" Banned Book
What is a banned book? A banned book is a challenged book that has actually been removed from the shelves. According to several sources, this book has been prohibited from most high schools for the following reasons: drug references, violence, and profanity. The literary merit of this book outweighs the reasons for the book being prohibited from book shelves. Although I can understand the reasoning behind the prohibition of this book, I feel teens are mature enough to read literary texts with some controversial issues.
