Why Is The Pigman Banned

Banned books “The Pigman”
There are so many banned books, almost every book you can think of is banned or challenged in one list. Most banned books are banned because of reasons that don’t even make sense. My book I read was The Pigman, By Paul Zindel and I really enjoyed this book. I do not agree that this book is banned but there isn’t too much you can do about it. People ban these books because they do not think that they are appropriate. The Pigman is told by two teenagers, John and Lorraine they have this teacher named Mr. Pignati or as they call them, the Pigman. Out of boredom they decide to prank call Mr. Pignati pretending to be collecting money for “L and J fund”. Mr, Pignati invites them to come to the zoo the next day to talk.

This desire to ban and suppress an author’s interpretation could arise from a variety of factors: differing ideological viewpoints, aversion to graphic content, or a distaste of a book’s “offensive” subject matter to name a few.…
