Wells Fargo Memo

Decent Essays
Dear Jodi, John, Mike, Brian, and Stacy,

Thank you for the interviews today and yesterday and showing me what your projects at Wells Fargo are like.

The projects are incredibly interesting and I would love to work on them with you. In my opinion, one of the most rewarding parts of data analysis and quality assurance is creating products that benefit consumers. I experienced this when I analyzed the development, use, and effects of pharmaceutical drugs. These pharmaceutical products facilitate a quick way for patients’ symptoms to subside, and the projects you create help clients live their dreams. The auto loans and mortgages Wells Fargo provides helps millions of people afford cars and homes. I want to help improve their experience and satisfaction

Customer Relations Analysis When I found out about this project we would have to do I immediately thought of my uncle Jason Douglas who works for Micro Beef technologies. Jason has been in the business going on almost twenty years and has a great relationship with numerous vets and cow/calf stocker operations because of his time in the industry. Micro Beef Technologies which is owned by MWI veterinary supplies is the largest distubutor of veterinary pharmisuticles. Threw out the day I was informed that MWI’s parent company which is AmerisourceBergen is a largest human pharmaceutical distributor company for hospitals and pharmacies all over the United States. During our afternoon spent together I listened to calls which helped me understand…

In the classic boomerang, a violation against human rights is committed by the state causing internal and external protests to occur, the state is then pressured to succumb to the demands of the people and enact change (Godoy, Feb 07). When applied to the Wells Fargo/Seattle case the boomerang misses the initial step because abuse has yet to happen and the final step because Wells Fargo did not follow the demands of the protestors. In Latin America, the boomerang was a powerful tool used to tackle civil and political rights violations. One such occurrence was in Guatemala, where Nike contracts factories to make their apparel.…

Decades ago, pharmaceutical company’s primary source for marketing their products were physicians and pharmacists, but today the targets are the consumers. The shift is partly due to the Federal Drug & Food (FDA), which has restricted how drug manufacturers market their products to health care professionals (Parekh, Marcus, Roberts & Raish, (2011). The DTCA is clearly a form of health communication that reaches the wide range of American, of which some argue problematic. “Direct to consumer prescription drug ads encourage people to seek medical advice from health professionals. Around 29 million patients talked with their doctors about DTC prescriptions and more than half discussed behavioral and lifestyle changes.…

Operations: I regularly communicated the status on each assignment and explained any open items that were causing delays. I also kept a running open items list that included request to the client, to ensure that no task or item went over looked or slipped through the cracks. I have made a habit of recording my time at the end of each day to ensure that I am recording it accurately and to ensure that I get my time card submitted on time each week. I also check my arms every week to check that it accurately represents what I will be doing the next week, updating for any vacation as soon as I know that I am taking it. We've accomplished a ton this week. Two completely different businesses were visited and some very insightful business people were met. I enjoyed Scott's work, but his down-to-earth personality made me realize how he can keep such good client relationships. Debt leveraging was my favorite take away from Scott's advice. The way he accumulated more debt to generate another source of income to keep one of his projects afloat was inspiring.…

Wells Fargo has recently been in the spotlight recently for unethical behavior of employees, as well as socially irresponsible behavior at the corporate level. It was recently disclosed that Wells Fargo employees opened up millions of fraudulent accounts, both for banking and credit cards, in the names of unsuspecting customers (Bryan, 2016a). These accounts were opened without explicit consent of the customers involved so that sales goals could be met. Sales goals were attached to incentives for employees, so motivation was provided to employees that had the means to commit these fraudulent actions. Soon after these revelations came to the public’s attention, it was also discovered that Wells Fargo was violating laws and regulations regarding…
