I enjoyed Scott's work, but his down-to-earth personality made me realize how he can keep such good client relationships. Debt leveraging was my favorite take away from Scott's advice. The way he accumulated more debt to generate another source of income to keep one of his projects afloat was inspiring. When I make big purchases relating to my cattle, I look at it like a number game. If I overstress and don't take the risk, my return begins to depreciate fast. Much to like what Scott told us, you have to go all in. Like Scott, Jeff Moore was a levelheaded guy and true entrepreneur. The way his two employees,

From my undergraduate career at Case Western Reserve University, where I studied Economics, I learned a lot about myself in an academic sense. I learned that I was good at understanding complex concepts introduced in these classes. I found that I had a very deep interest in finding out how the business world works, and how different analytical tools can used to make sense out of data collected from our society. The economics classes that I took, along with a healthy side of mathematics and Russian language courses, helped me to shape the approach I have taken since graduation in May of 2013.…

The Arrival I had originally planned to travel to Rio on September 5th through September 12th. A perspicacious and experienced hunter named Rainsford accompanied me. It was nighttime when I first spotted land of any sort. It was vaguely visible and was opaque, so misty that even Rainsford couldn’t see it. Utterly tired, I began drifting off, dreaming of the adventures we were soon to face.…

Coming Up to the Tee The aroma of freshly cut grass fills my nose as I step up to the tee. I swing my club back slowly, blocking out the millions of thoughts running through my mind. I purchased my current home in 2001 with a mortgage interest rate of 7.75%. Since then I have been able to take advantage of lower interest rates and refinance multiply times, with my current rate being 3.75%. The last time I refinanced, my mortgage was “underwater” (the balance of the mortgage was higher than the value of my home) which became quite common following the housing crash in 2007-2008. Being underwater I did not qualify for a traditional refinance; however I was able to take advantage of the Federal Governments Home affordable Refinance Program (HARP). Having a lower interest rate, lowered my monthly mortgage payment I then took that savings and updated my kitchen adding to the value of my…

It is the morning of July 4th, 2008: I groan as my mother gently whispers, “teneshi yene mar (Get up honey)”. Struggling I open my eyes and notice the trembling cabin, I turn to my mother with a look of concern and she reaches out her hand and squeezes my own looking up at me, “we are going to be okay Mar”. A couple of moments later our plane has landed, we gather up our belongings and make our way towards the exit filled with people attached to their screens and MP3 players. The airport is filled with an undercurrent of anticipation, impatience, and boredom; bodies scramble back and forth from one gate to another. My mother, attempting to balance three children, clasps my hand, holds my little brother to her waist and calls back to my older…

Life is not easy- -if life were to be easy, there would be no tears, no pain, and no suffering. My mother always told me to work hard, and in the end I would be paid greatly. But what are you supposed to work hard for when you 're out of the job, prices are rising, and you can barely make enough money on part time jobs to support yourself? It 's hard in the U.S right now, the Stock Market has crashed and the crops in the Midwest are dying out. We had recently just concluded the Great War and we had won.…

I was once read somewhere that “money, like emotions, is something you must control to keep your life on the right track.” You might be wondering how can I compare money and emotions. It was a point in my life that I had nowhere to lay my head or put food on my stomach because my family didn’t have any money. My mother would always say “don’t worry about what were are going through just focus on your school work, to avoid situations like this, don’t have babies early, you have plenty of time for that and make sure you have a well-paying job so you can support yourself. I won’t always be here to take care of you, and nobody can take care of like you can”.…
