The next management function is leading which involves demonstrating mangers’ leadership to motivate staff members for organisational success. Weinbach and Taylor (2015) states that leading is about “the manager’s conscious efforts to influence other persons within the organisation to engage willingly in those behaviours that contribute to achievement of organisational goals” (p.101). One of keys to influential leadership appears to be staff motivation. Staff members will be motivated to contribute their best work if information, responsibility, and authority for decision-making are give to them within their areas of expertise (Schermerhorn et al., 2017).
