Kristallnacht means “Night of the Broken Glass” which had germans breaking the glass of Jewish stores just like how Jack breaks the lens on Piggy’s glasses. Although physical violence is an example of Golding’s Connections to World War Two, the manipulation further develops this. The Connection to World War Two is further developed by Golding through manipulation. In Lord of the Flies, Jack says “Tonight we're having a feast. We’ve killed a pig and we’ve got meat. You can come and eat with us if you like (pg.140).” Jack resembles Hitler again but shows the rise of how he really got there. Jack promised the kids' meat like Hitler promised his fellow Germans a better economy and a better life. Also, Jack says “ and my hunters will protect you from the beast. Who will join my tribe(pg.150).” Jack is manipulating the boys again by offering safety against the beast. Hitler used Jews as a scapegoat like Jack is using the beast as a scapegoat to get what he wants.
