Hitler was a cruel human being who believed that violence and war was the solution to success, and more importantly life. He explained, “Demoralize the enemy from within, by surprise, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future.” (Brainy Quotes, Adolf Hitler). He used many tactics to eliminate his enemies, such as surprise attacks, interfering or starting war with opposing countries or simply killing the competitors. William Golding incorporates his ghastly experiences from World War II, into the fascinating, yet peculiar novel “Lord of the Flies” where Jack is the antagonist of this novel, and is an extremely cruel and vicious leader who reflects Hitler’s evil acts. One of these consisted of the conch, which Ralph used as a sense of power or control. During the novel, Ralph is described as “His size, and attractive appearance, and most obscurely, yet most powerfully there was the conch” (Golding, 45). The conch represents the radio which Roosevelt used to communicate with the united states, just how Ralph uses the conch to communicate with the ‘savages’. The conch was so valuable that "The being that had blown that, had sat waiting for them on the platform with the delicate thing balanced on his knees, was set apart" (Golding, 75). This quote interpreted the significance of the conch, which was a symbol of control and power. Ralph also clarifies that there is no beast on the island, indicating that there should be no fear. He explains “Fear cannot hurt you anymore than a dream, there isn't any beasts to be afraid of on this island..” (Golding, 226) signifying Ralphs fearless attribute. Roosevelt took these same actions, when he explained how the only fear there is, is fear itself. Ralph was also very confident that he would snatch the role of being the leader, from Jack, which he easily did. He implied this when he said "Shut up," He lifted the conch. "Seems to me we ought to have a chief to decide things." (Golding,12). All of these traits of Ralph correspond to the real-life commander,
