The creation of a human is a process that is supposed to be a beautiful event. People create life for many different reasons but they usually all derive from love. This is a sin against nature and Victor has to pay the price until he dies.“Victor Frankenstein, ultimately brought disaster upon himself and his loved ones by indulging in the ‘unhallowed arts’ of bestowing animation upon lifeless matter” (Van Den Belt 260). Instead of the monster being Victor’s slave, Victor becomes a slave to the monster. He is unable to escape the chains of his monster and must watch his family suffer the consequences of his selfish ego. Victor is the cause of Justine’s execution and rather than admitting to it or telling people about the monster he decides to keep quiet than reveal his monster. He claims,“ it is necessary to divulge the truth because of the ‘ circumstantial’ nature of the case against Justine” (Lunsford 175). Victor knows if he tells the court and his family about the monster they will believe he is crazy. He sacrifices the life of his family to keep from being scolded.
