Via And Auggie Analysis

In the second part of “Wonder” we read in Via’s point of view. Via’s point of view tells how, Auggie, got this deformation. In part two there is a chapter called Genetics 101, and a chapter called The Punnett Square. In these two chapters we read the possible of Via and Auggie having the chances of getting kids like Auggie. In this part it tells the same days Auggie is having in part one, but the way she is seeing and living the days.
In the first chapter of the second part, Via tells us that Auggie is the center of attention. The way Via decribes this by saying, “August is the Sun. Me, Mom, and Dad are planets orbiting the Sun. The rest of our family and friends are asteroid and comets floating around the planets orbiting the Sun.” (page 82). When Via says, “The galaxy is changing. Via is her name at home. People describe Via as nice and brother who is deformed. She does not like this. Miranda and Ella are her two friends. They both love Auggie. Miranda has been the sweetest to Auggie. Miranda is the one who gave Auggie the astronaut helmet, Auggie wore the helmet everywhere he went because with it on no one could see his face. Everything has changed with Miranda when Via goes to school. Miranda came to school with super-cute bob that was dyed bright pink. She was also wearing a tube top. Ella and Miranda have gotten together over the summer with out Via. When Via has to go home with Miranda that afternoon, Via tells Miranda that her mom can pick her up after she picks up Auggie. Via then takes the subway home. When she gets home her mom ask, “Where is Miranda and why were you late?” Via tells her, “We stopped for pizza and Miranda went home because we have a lot of homework.” (page 95). This is all a lie.
