Logistics in a multi-billion dollar industry that is only growing every year, as the global economy expands to all four corners of the globe. The need for fast, efficient and accurate shipping is becoming less a want and more of a need for many businesses. The United Parcel Service (UPS), provides this service, unlike other companies who retail a physical product, they offer an action. The hallmarks of a good service provider are quality, reliability, flexibility and good customer service. Therefore, when adding to a business’s channels, it is imperative these factors are considered. So what are UPS’s business customers looking for before committing to work with UPS?

Business buyer behavior is a term used to describe the interaction during a business to business transaction. This type of commerce differs from common place buying and selling, rather because it involves an entire company’s efforts to be completed smoothly and successfully. The need for one business to start working with another is derived from the identification of a deficiency, the recognition of a problem. The other side transaction is the company selling its product or service, and how they market to other businesses.
UPS markets itself to other companies as a solution to all their shipping needs and this paper will be showing how it relates to the major concepts presented in the course text covering business buyer behavior.
