According to Kreitner & Kiniciki (2013), cross-functional teams are defined as teams that are made up of technical specialists from different areas (p. 320). Therefore, trust is a very important part of the cross-functional process in building successful teams in the business. Personally, trust is earned only through credibility, which is never built quickly because of the diversity of people; each person has different interpretations of trust. Trust is built by promoting communication, support, having mutual respect, fairness, predictability, and competence ( Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013, p. 313).
