The civil rights act of 1964 states the protection of individuals from discrimination based on gender,race or religion. The law makes it illegal for an employer to discriminate in firing or hiring and other conditions such as promotions and raises and other job opportunities because of gender,race or religion. The advantage of Title VII are that not any gender can be discriminated against nor can advantages or disadvantages for either gender can be given. One disadvantage is that Title VII is old and over the years has lost its value which causes it to usually be overlooked as job owners give different salaries to both genders based specifically on gender and race.
