“I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The World will have a generation of idiots.” (Albert Einstein) The world we live in today is full of technology. A world full of huge screens right in front of our faces. We are constantly bombarded with the newest cell phones and gadgets. No one can deny how much technology has helped the world, how many lives it has saved, and how many problems it has solved. Although it has helped many people, it has a lot of negative effects on our society today. Technology is extremely helpful in our society, it helps one to communicate quickly and easily, but it also has hurt the need for meaningful face to face communication. One of the main reasons that technology is so useful is its convenience. One can sit at home in their room and send their friend a text asking to get together. One can easily call their parent to let them know to come pick them up from a soccer practice. In our society we rely on technology, one can barely go a few hours without their phone and others spend endless hours in front of a television screen. In Fahrenheit 451 Montag and Faber use small earpieces to communicate with each other. Everyone in their town puts “seashells” in their ears so the government can speak to everyone instantly. “It looks like a Seashell Radio. And something more! It listens!
