The Truth about Transgender “It isn’t about “becoming” another person - I already am who I am - I just want my body to reflect that. It’s not like I’m suddenly changing from the person you’ve always known - this is more about your willingness to see who I have always been.” This is a quote from a trans man named Cooper Lee Bombardier. Transgender can be defined as a person whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that usually associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth. The fact of the matter is that there is a complete lack of knowledge when it comes to the T in the LGBT community(Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender). Transgender people are often misunderstood due to the lack of knowledge that surrounds the topic, trans people are normal and they are just like everyone else.. Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner) has had a crazy amount of attention in the news lately. After 60 years, Caitlyn decided to tell the world that she was transgender and started her transition to become a woman on the outside. Due to Caitlyn being so famously involved with the Kardashians, she got her own docu-series called “I am Cait”. This is not only a show about Caitlyn’s transition, but a show about transgender people’s struggles and what they have to go through to become who they know they are on the inside.
