Kathy Shaidle In Defense Of Bullying Analysis

Bullying has increased drastically over the years among the United States and numerous other countries. Bullying has gradually become a rising epidemic among teens due to rates of suicide and depression, according to Kathy Shaidle in the article “In Defense of Bullying” is depicting that this increase is non-significant and that bullying is bettering youth by making them strive for more. That putting these teens through bullying, they will be better in the long run and more successful in life. Kathy states that she had crooked teeth and thick glasses, when she had attended school she was rude and mean. Over all, bullying is increasing and so is the amount of suicide among teens. Kathy Shaidle’s article “In Defense of Bullying” states that bullying is good on the development of youth to strive for more. That not many adolescence kill themselves due to bullying and anti-bullying actually is just creating more bullies. This outlook on bullying is ignoring that there has been a massive increase in self-harm amongst teenagers, why teens have been resorting to self-harm, how bullying actually affects lives, and how suicide and depression have become more widespread among adolescence. The article by Kathy supports no evidence that there aren’t that many suicides because of bullying and that bullying does not pose a massive problem for the well-being of youth. From my own personal experience, bullying isn’t just a problem that will go away if ignored and it’s only going to get worse.
