It is when we get baptized, and we have shown a sign of repentance and we becoming one with Him. Union with Christ comes into relation with justification and sanctification; also, repentance is always the first step in order to meet these other steps. Nevertheless, the biblical evaluation focuses more on our spiritual union with Christ. Paul has given several explanations to what our union with Christ should be like. “But the person who unites himself with the Lord becomes one spirit with him” (1 Corinthians 6:17). The biblical evaluation we can use with this issue is when we become united with Christ we become identical to him. The biblical perspective one needs is to represent oneself as Christ on earth. For identity to take place, we must be united with Christ spiritually. For example, “This new identity is not something we achieve by converting ourselves or by trying to enter into it. It is given to us graciously by God, apart from and outside of ourselves” (Union with Christ, Horton). Since God chooses us, then our goal is to be like Him, and do what He pleases. Our biblical evaluation should always be the desire to be like God, and to get closer to Him. Moving on to the next step, which is historical development. One might ask the question, what is the importance of history? History is where we came from. History is what makes us who we are today. Our history will exist forever, and it will always be there for us to look back to. In our theology class, we have elaborated well on the periods of time where certain stories happened in the bible. Union with Christ is something that existed in the past and still exists today. As believers, it is very important to know where our union with Christ came
