There are some positive benefits through psychotherapy. One of those benefits is the aspect of communication. Psychotherapy does not just try to treat symptoms, but tries to find the problems through building a relationship with the counselee through a lot of communication (American Psychological Association). This is a good approach to take in the counseling room because it is important to get to the root cause of an issue. With that being said, psychotherapy more often than not gets the cause of the symptoms wrong. The underlying cause to all problems is sin.
