Collaboration within health care is a concept to bring teams of providers together utilizing combined "skills, experience, and knowledge to produce a superior outcome" (Youngwerth & Twaddle 2011, p. 650). As a global concept, collaboration within health care has increased in recognition of the ability to provide improved care and patient outcomes (Holm & Severinsson 2013; McKay & Wieck 2014; Rice et al. 2010).
