How does society perceive and treat people who have visible Autism?
There are many different types of physiological disorders that go hand in hand when it comes to dealing with the brain and the way it functions. Many people today have many of these illnesses and diseases that can alter a person’s entire life. There are over thousands and thousands of illnesses that are brain related such as Asperger’s Syndrome, Personality disorder, Bipolar disorder, Autism, etc. The brain disorder that I am focusing on is Autism. Autism also known as ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) it is a serious developmental disorder starting from birth and it weakens the ability to communicate, learn, and also impairs their ability to have social interactions with others. Autism is very common and many people, mostly children are immune to carrying it at birth where it affects their cerebrum and they lose their ability to communicate and interact with others. In many places and countries around the world people are given equal rights but, for those who are too weak and vulnerable to speak for themselves. Many of these people are taken advantage of and treated poorly. Find life lonely, unable to play with the kids in their neighborhood. Resent having to go to special classes or schools rather than to the regular classes in the neighborhood schools with their friends. Feel self-conscious about their differences. Feel resentful about how others treat them, like talking loudly or slowly to them. Find it difficult to compete for academic honors or scholarships in public high schools.
