They are not these human-like forms for which we automatically think of when we think about robots. At least not yet. As of right now, they are simple machines that we use in our everyday lives. Self-checkouts, cellphones, computers, televisions, and gaming systems today are all simple robots. They benefit us in ways of figuring out problems, taking over our menial jobs, or being at our beck and call. For example, we command our cellphones to call anyone from our contact list and they will automatically do it. We do not have the trouble to search through our contact list and find the person we want. With just one command, it pops up on our screen instantly. In addition to that, we can command these gadgets to turn on our lights, unlock our doors, turn on music and so on and so forth. These are necessarily prototypes to what scientists really want to create, which is a humanoid, or a human-like
