Gun control is one of the most controversial issues in the U.S We hear many stories over the news about mass shootings in schools, churches, banks, etc. Most people tend to disagree on restricting guns because it gets in the way of the second amendment but according to Former Justice John Paul Stevens, “the Framer’s single-minded focus in crafting the constitutional guarantee ‘to keep and bear arms’ was on military use of firearms, which they viewed in the context of service in state militias”. There is nothing said about individual right to bear arms in the second amendment, so they don’t really have a valid argument.
