Throughout the community I reside in, there is a continuous problem of what goes on in the streets. It is not uncommon to see people walking the streets late at night, or begging for money during the day. The reality is these people are struggling, and they need help of some sort. They can’t provide for themselves and we as a community are unable to provide for the amount of people who are struggling. What is the best way to help solve the problem in our community? Many people are going without and in today’s time it is dangerous to not have a place to go. This is something we cannot just ignore. There are many reasons why people are homeless and it is not our place to judge, there are several ways we could help put an end to the homeless situation in our community. Unfortunately, more times than not, the homeless people in our area do not have anyone to depend on or many tangible items. It is important for the residents in our community to understand the heart wrenching things they have put themselves through and the situations are going through. We need to take a stand and get the word out there of how important it is to be aware of this situation. Not only for our safety, but for the mere fact of helping them out. The smallest things can help the most. If just a small portion of the residents donated unwanted items, like blankets, jackets, shoes, etc. to homeless shelters we could provide for them better.
