Are Pit Bulls Harmful Or Dangerous

When people hear the word “pit bull” they immediately think of a dangerous and very vicious dog, responsible for attacks on people and other dogs. But should they really be considered dangerous? The description of a pit bull (American Staffordshire Terrier) according to the American Kennel Club (AKC) says, “should give the impression of great strength for his size, a well put-together dog, muscular, but agile and graceful, keenly alive to his surroundings. He should be stocky but not long-legged or racy in outline.” Pit bull terriers should not be considered dangerous since a majority of dog attacks are not pit bulls and the media is bias towards them. Pit bulls have been labelled as dangerous and vicious dogs. It is believed that they are naturally vicious and more aggressive towards people. They are loyal dogs who have received a bad reputation. There is plenty of evidence that proves they are just treated unfairly at times and that there is not a lot of attacks they are actually responsible for. There are many factors that also go into a bad pit bull but many of them are sweet, innocent, and misjudged dogs who are in need of love and a voice for them. Pit bulls are wrongly identified and blamed for attacks they didn’t commit, there is also a lot of basis against them. The media is very basis and shows all the bad things about this loving intelligent dog. There are very few good stories that are spread by major media outlets. There are also unprepared owners that don’t correctly train their pit bull. They deserve to be shown as the courageous symbol they once were. Pit bulls are very sweet, loving, intelligent, and loyal dogs that deserve a chance to prove themselves worthy and be defended against the people that are against
