On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump announced that he was running for the Republican nomination for president of the United States of America. Shortly after, he followed with the powerful remarks, "When Mexico sends its people, they 're not sending their best. They 're not sending you. They 're not sending you. They 're sending people that have lots of problems, and they 're bringing those problems with us. They 're bringing drugs. They 're bringing crime. They 're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people" (Donald Trump). This was a very controversial statement that some cheered and others feared. I for one was in shock. After watching the trending video on Facebook many thoughts and emotions passed through my mind. I’m not going to lie; I was afraid, sad and mad. I was afraid that if he became president there would not be any reform for undocumented immigrants. I was sad at the thought of being separated from people who surround me who are immigrants. I was mad because I know that the people who surround me aren’t rapists or criminals, but very good hardworking people. I’m a Mexican- American and my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles all emigrated from Mexico to live in “the land of opportunity”. They came with the dream to have a better life and obtain success, not to bring destruction and crime. There are thousands of people around the world with the same dream. There are many who agree with Donald Trump’s plan about sending all 11 million undocumented immigrants back…
