With the help of the chorus teachers at Middle and High School we have composed music for the mission statement and trained the chorus group after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Plan is to sing the mission song during morning announcements time, during PLCs, and all school programs. Song form of mission statement was relatively easier for the stakeholders and now the teachers were asked to engage students in discuss about the mission and vision statements with the students. When the new superintendent demonstrated a collaborative leadership style by forming a Principal interview team that included both veteran and new teachers to choose the new principal, it well-received; therefore, as the new principal, following through with a similar collaborative style would likely be successful. It is important for organizations to differentiate between an active mission statement versus an inactive mission statement. The difference might not seem importance, but the factors that make a mission statement non-relevant can cause complications in the workplace. When workers rely on outdated mission and vision, the expected outcome does not produce the anticipated change. For example, Schemica’ s Burgers and Fries outdated mission states: Our mission is to provide customers with a remarkable meal while creating a great experience for kids through excellent service. Furthermore, I believe that a successful school needs a principal to oversee the school culture, provide instructional leadership, and exemplify an understanding of state standards.…
