Essay On Clinical Experience

I successfully graduated the Practical Nurse program from NorQuest College with applied clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. During my clinical experience, it taught and prepared me to communicate with clients and their family members in a professional matter also the experience of the fast-paced setting in a hospital. My clinical experience were different compared to the practices we did in the classroom where we could take our time preparing medication and we did not have as much of the professional interactions as I did in the hospitals. I discovered that I was able to apply my knowledge that I gained from the classroom into real life situations and further build on those experiences. The journey of completing the LPN program shaped me into a more responsible, accountable, and mature individual. It taught me critical thinking, life-saving skills, and patient advocacy. I have learned effective nursing communication skills. When I first started my nursing practice I was an introvert who needed to improve on the social skills that seemed to come easy to some people. But over time I became more confident and conformable communicating with others. I learned what worked and what did not.
