According to NBC news, on April 27th, 2015 fifteen police officers were injured due to an uncivilized protest. (Shapiro 2015). One officer was unresponsive while others suffered from broken bones. While the video may have indeed been disturbing and impertinent, the students have done no actual threat. The punishments are valid because of school rules, but needs to actually teach the kids of the right and wrong doing.
In conclusion, freedom of speech has been given to us due to the lack of independence and desire to say what is wishful on their mind. However, there are certain boundaries that cannot be crossed due to the other amendments in the constitution, and while we see things as a threat, it does not give legal permission to destruct and recoil others.
