Verbal communication in the nursing practice consists of conveying messages by suitable pitch of voice, language used, timing and clearness. (Crisp, Taylor, Douglas, & Roberto, 2012). Non-verbal communication is the transmission of messages without speech through the use of hand signals, eye connection and stance (Crisp, Taylor, Douglas, & Roberto, 2012).
