STATE THE PROBLEM
While working for a very large telecommunications company we had the problem with internal conflict. The company was going through a lot of changes with management going through a restructuring process. With these kinds of changes some employees are let go, some are promoted, and others were not. With this internal conflict came bad moral and a decrease in productivity. There was also a lack of communication during the process. When the first wave came through, we had no notice. We were all called into the main quad and an announcement was made that there would be meetings that would be held all day within the different departments. Within a week 225 people were let go and the rest were restructured. There was a lot of

In the long term employees will have a purpose and sense of security therefore, building morale and retention numbers.
My other alternative is to create and implement a Conflict Management System. Every organization should have a system and training in place on how handle any disputes or conflicts that might arise in the organization. A conflict management system when created and implemented properly will have an immediate positive effect on the organization. By raising an employee’s or manager’s conflict awareness it will reduce the impact of conflict in the workplace. There are 4 different platforms of this system, conflict awareness training, communication training, negotiation training, and manager awareness training.
By implementing this system in the short term it will reflect the organizations commitment to solve or resolve any immediate issues. In the long term it will provide the organization stronger more educated leadership that will be properly trained on how to handle any disputes or internal conflict before they become bigger issues. This system will effect internal morale, management effectiveness, internal conflict, employee retention, and an atmosphere of inclusion. In order to implement a conflict management system you have to have total buy in from all of management. Training and retraining will be necessary, on all levels, to properly
