Recommendations for Struggling Managers
Identifying the difficulties that managers may be having in establishing self-directed, high-performing teams, first you have to look at the basics that include team building, having a clear purpose, problem solving, decision making, negotiation, setting goals, conflict, effective leaders, and proactive planning. All of these together help create a self-directed high preforming team, so you need to look at each of these to find out what problems you are experiencing in your teams and then assess what steps you need to take.
We will look at the ineffective issues we find and look at what will make them effective, with the team. We found that the team was not a cohesive team, using ineffective work methods

There is Functional and Dysfunctional conflict, functional conflict is good for the team it keeps the innovation juices flowing with friendly competition, debates, and problem solving. This can elevate a team to the next level and a team that can do this constantly and stay a cohesive team. What you don’t want is dysfunctional conflict, when you get dysfunctional conflict the team members starting holding grudges and hurt feeling against other members which will fester and break your team apart when members start taking sides against each other. The quality of the product starts to suffer along with the quantity that is produced and cost goes up when you start reworking parts and have to add more cost to each part. Planning goes along hand in hand with smart goals first you plan and then you adjust your goals to achieve your plans.
Recommendations for Success After going over our summery we have discussed numerous issues involving a clear purpose, problem solving, decision making, negotiation, setting goals, conflict, effective leaders, and proactive planning. We see all the weak links that can use some help to help the teams that in turn helps the company as a whole, I sagest we put a comprehensive training and updating system into place to keep the team’s self-directed high-performing with effective leaders.
