During the time from 1824 there have been to 2000, there has been three additional cases where the person that got elected did not win the popular vote. The years were 1876, 1888, and 2000. There have been many riots after this election, but it is hard to blame them on any single thing such as Trump not winning the popular vote. However, that has most likely contributed to the riots. This election was very unique because of its candidates. However, if this election would have been decided by a popular vote, the outcome would have most likely changed. That shows just how significant the presidential election process is. Overall, there have been four, not including 2016, majorly disputed elections because of the current presidential election process and numerous ones that were somewhat disputed.
