Calibration is part of why continuous feedback is required for increased productivity and successful partnerships in a firm, because as stated by Lee (2007) “The best way to find solutions to common problems is to collaborate and this collaboration requires conversation” (p. 1). Furthermore, continuous feedback is an opportunity to develop goals for the coming year and to discuss job advancements to ensure the employee’s development and growth (SHRM, 2012). Feedback can help engage all employees and create a sense of personal responsibility leading to a healthy work environment that instills a sense of pride in the employees, which promotes success and accomplishments of the firm’s goals (Lee, …show more content…
129). This is why continuous feedback is so important to a firm. Instead of terminating an employee over poor performance and spending the time, money and effort to interview and hire a replacement, the management team should provide feedback and discuss the problem(s) with the employee and give them the chance to make corrections and improve on the issues described by management (Bowman, 1994). Management needs to own their part of an issue and not just blame the employee for the poor performance; many times it is the lack of role and responsibilities and clear communication of expectations that is to
