Career and Technical Education is a major part of the solution to myriad national economic and workforce problems, such as high school dropout rates, a weakened economy, global competitiveness and massive layoffs (ACTE). Technical education was established to prepare young scholars to learn the skills required in a specific career. Once referred to as vocational education and also known as career education, it sparked society and communities to build technical high schools (Beckwith 26). Pupils are slowly and efficiently introduced to the basic skill requirements that someone working in the career needs.
