Summary: A Career In Accounting

Cha-Ching! Cha-Ching! Cha-Ching! The world revolves around money. People have to have money to buy things, own a business, and run a business. Companies have to earn money in order to be able to run it while all other companies also have to have money. These companies should have people to help handle the money and know where the money is being used. The people they hire are called accountants and financial managers. Accountants and Financial managers have to have an education to learn about the job, they have job requirements to do the job right, earn a good salary for the jobs they do and in the future can possibly have job advancements. Accountants and Financial Managers help control the money that companies need and use which suggests that they are important to the companies they work with along with the requirements of education, job responsibilities, salary, and job advancements. The educational requirements for an accountant and financial manager start with basic skills and don’t always require a degree. “For Financial Managers with the right credentials the future looks excellent. Such credentials would be expertise in accounting and finance, strong computer skills, knowledge of international finance, and well-honed communication skills.” (“Financial and Accounting Manager”). It is better and easier when a Financial Manager can do the basics to what the job requires. Most financial managers work on computers so it is important to know how to use one. They also have to have communication skills while working with others. In order to get the job done financial managers have to know basics if they want to be able to do the actual job requirements. Not knowing how to work a computer can hold you back from things such as putting in information or just slow you down. “Accounting degree programs are very popular and commonly available at colleges and universities throughout the United States as well as through distance learning.” (Learn How to Become). There are accounting programs for students who want to do this career but do not want to do the four-year college and get a degree. A bachelor’s degree is not always required but only some people are willing to go through the classes that the college or university required in order to earn their degree. Colleges and universities provide accounting programs for this who want to take and finish the accounting classes faster than usual. In order to be an accountant or financial manager a person has to have basic skills such as knowing how to use a computer and as well as being able to communicate well with customers. While students can get a degree such as a bachelor’s or masters degree it’s not always required. Some school provide students the opportunity to take the accounting programs in order to finish quicker. "Earning a certification in an accounting specialization or a masters’ degree in accounting could help boost career climbing, and if you haven’t earned your CPA, it 's something you may want to look at down the road." (Learn How to Become). Having a certification or degree can show that you know what you are doing especially if you have started working. Even if to be an accountant or Financial Manager does not require a degree, a degree can help you climb up to a better job opportunity that you may want after having worked for a while. “There is expected to be a continuing need for skilled Financial Managers, which will, of course, spur employment growth. Those who continue their education should find advancement opportunities to remain healthy." (Financial and Accounting Manager). It is more common for a financial manager to have job advancement opportunities if they have experience and education. Job advancements are more likely available for Financial Managers when they have experience in the field and know what they are doing and when they have a degree. Job advancements are available for the accountants and financial managers who have experience and the ones who have a degree because it shows that they know what they are doing. Moving up from positions are possible for accountants and financial managers especially when they have gained experience and when they have earned their degrees and
