In “The World Is All That Is The Case” by Lee Seigel, he argues that although the internet and technologies can have great benefits, its downside cannot be denied. The downside of the internet is that it blurs the line between a fantasy world and real life. The internet is encouraging people to create independent worlds for each other that make it even harder to simply be human and be aware of the world. Technologies are assimilating human existence to an economic model which has nothing to do with being human. It does not include human needs, desires, and experiences.…

Have you ever wondered how technology works or if is even good or bad for the people that use it or even for our society? Technology can have its good sides which are helping people communicate much faster and find solutions much faster than they have before but it can also have its bad sides like affecting the way that people communicate now, which is less than people use to talk before. Gina Tsuge argues that technology can be good or bad depending on whose hands it is on and the way that technology can be used by people. It can either affect people if it is not used the way it should be used, or it can benefit people or impact humanity in a positive way if it is used in a good and effective way.…

Technology is neither good nor bad; nor is it neutral. Technology is simply a tool for our lives, and we get to chose whether we allow it to be for good or for bad. In Sherry Turkle’s book entitled Reclaiming Conversation, she addresses the issue of the misuse of technology in the everyday incorporation of it in the lives of people just like us. Turkle does not write this book to show how technology is ruining our lives and creating a dumb generation, while some might argue it is, but rather to show that technology is a great advancement in human history that like many other things has been distorted. She tackles the issues of empathy and romance and the effect technology has made on these emotions in every day places such as the family, workplace,…
