The article titled The HR Personality, by Scott Flander is about the impact of personality traits of the Human Resource executives vs the other chief executives of a corporation. This comparison is done by using several surveys; for example, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the CPI 260, and the Thomsa-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument. The surveys were to see if there is a difference in the mental processes between the two groups. As a result, each survey pointed out, for the most part, they think the same except for sympathy, compassion, and empathy. This article is comparing personalities to see if these differences make the HR director less effective over the hard nose effectiveness of the other chief executives. I truly believe the HR executives and other executives are very much alike when it comes to thinking strategically because in order for any business to be successful the executive has to think strategically. Besides, the big difference between both groups is in the personality traits like, empathy and consideration. Studies suggest the HR executive tends to be more intuitive and are better at building trusting relationships with employees because of their personalities. I think it depends on the individual, but for the most part the article suggest that HR executive will have a hard time selling their ideas to CEOs and other leaders. The non HR leaders don’t think the same and will find it difficult to see things like the HR executive because they’re more of a win-lose rational. I believe a non HR executive will be more willing to sacrifice workers in order to make bigger profits. The HR director looks at being strategic with compassion and the other executives are looking at production without thinking of the employees; therefore, HR is usually not heard in discussions about the strategic plans of the company because of the difference in
