Psychology,according to the book Psychology by Ciccarelli and White, is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Psychology.org describes it as the scientific study of the mind and behavior. They go on to say that Psychology is a multifaceted discipline and includes many sub-fields of study such areas as human development, sports, health, clinical, social behavior and cognitive processes. Basically psychology is an observation and study of what is happening,why it is happening, and what happens after. Psychology is about predicting and controlling behavior, learning to be a critical thinker. It is a quest to understanding life.

It is beneficial to be a critical thinker and to theorise the whys of life. It can be a way to be a better person, to be healthier, and happier. If you notice that you are often unexpectedly sad at a certain time of the day-write it down, see if there is a pattern and theorize why. It may be something that you can change. This can also work for health ailments, if you notice you have a headache or sore joint ant certain times of the day or week. There could be a cause that you are simply not noticing and this can be corrected. This can be very beneficial in business. You can study your coworkers and figure out who is a "morning person" and who zones out after 3p.m. You can find out a lot about a person by noting a behavior, asking yourself why & testing it out.
