Psychology is a highly desirable subject to me because of how it can offer an explanation to almost anything, it is also difficult to think of a part of life where psychology cannot be applied. Psychology is a great part of the fundamentals of a human being. I am enthralled by how we humans are so vastly different from each other, but on the other hand seem to follow the exact same recipe of strictures when encountered with life.
As one of my extra-curricular activities, I participate as a journalist in the school newspaper. The theme of the article was inspired by the marshmallow test. After reading Walter Mischel’s ‘The Marshmallow Test’ I was mesmerised by how the marshmallow test developed from the original purpose and became one of the most influential studies in the world. Therefore, I chose to write about an unusual, lesser known study; about how the brain reacts to laughter.
