Side Bar: Welcome all Adelaide foodies! This is my internet kitchen where I spend most of my time eating and preparing reviews for you guys and upload one to many photos of my delicious food adventures. So, go on, take a seat and check out the menu!
Review: Located on the corner of Margaret St and The Parade, Norwood, there is an exquisite little health food restaurant called Argos on the parade! On Saturday the 13th of August, I arrived at the restaurant hungry for satisfaction! I was not disappointed when I received my bowl of crispy vegetarian nachos and a side of warm quinoa porridge (I just couldn’t decide, porque no los dos, am I right?). For this particular blog, I chose to aim this review at Adelaide ‘foodies’ and healthy eating community. Foodies are known as people who have a particular interested in food and beverage and eat out as a hobby rather than a convenience meal. Often foodies promote and publicise their outings on social media and blogs such as this text production and thus this review appeals to them. It was important that this particular term was mentioned within the blog to clearly direct the review at the intended audience. The purpose of the review is to share the experience of the food and service to engage and promote the restaurant for people wishing to try this particular type of healthy foods. Through introducing the linguistic technique of imagery such as “all the tables as far as the eye could see were filled with groups of people with colourful dishes… to my left, the counter and smoothie bar was crowded with staff buzzing about like busy bees.”. The audience can visualise the atmosphere which gives the impression of a popular and busy popular store and encourages consumers to visit the restaurant. In combination with written techniques, images are referred too allowing the readers to gain a visual incentive as well as written.
